Passing on knowledge and experience in arts to the next generation has been one of the main desires of Christoph Ehrenfellner for a long time, as surviving without the arts seems to be an impossible thought. Thus, the growth and sharpening of artistic output within the young talents is of similar satisfaction to Christoph as to observe and support developing within our children in general.

Youth Orchestra-Coaching: In consequence of his violin-chamber music – conducting education Christoph Ehrenfellner is a sought after Coach for many Youth Orchestras around the world. Since many years he coaches the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester, the Upper Austrian YO, the ARCOrchestra, the Jeunesse Orchestra Camp.
SCL Youth Orchestra Competition: Since 2011 Ehrenfellner is jury-member and workshop-leader for the outstanding SCL Festival, one of the biggest and prestigious Orchestra- and Choir Festivals in the world, happening every summer at Wiener Musikverein and Konzerthaus. Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra and New Jersey YSO from USA, New Brunswick Youth Orchestra/Canada, Alicante YSO/Spain, Norwegian YO, Hong Kong Youth String Orchestra, Galilee String Orchestra/Israel are just some of the long list of Ensembles participating from all parts of this world, working with Christoph Ehrenfellner.
El Sistema – Venezuela: Over the years 2005 – 2010 Ehrenfellner regularly visited Caracas and the vast music programs of EAFIT. Assisting Maestro Georg Mark Christoph coached Youth Orchestras, gave masterclasses for chamber music and violin-playing. Also the productions of Mozart’s Da Ponte-Operas at Teatro Teresa Carrena Caracas with the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra happened with strong input from Christophs side.
IMS Prussia Cove: For more than 10 years, starting with 1998, Christoph has been part of the Festival Open Chamber Music by Int.Musicians Seminar (IMS) Prussia Cove/England. Starting as a student he soon got invited to lead ensembles through representative chamber music repertoire. Founded in the 1970ies by Sandor Vegh the International Musicians Seminar has become one of Europe’s leading Chamber Music platforms – just like Leonard Bernstein’s Tanglewood Festival in the USA.
Workshops at Viennese Music-Highschools: Since 2012 Christoph Ehrenfellner gives annual composition-workshops at Viennese Junior High schools with focus on music. In groups of 20 pupils Christoph introduces in block courses the basics of composition and musical thinking, then assists the participants individually with their learning by doing – great experience on both sides!
Lecture-recitals: Ehrenfellner also meets increasing demand for lecture-recitals, especially for those foreign groups of students who do cultural tours to Vienna. He then plays and presents representative chamber music together with partners from the Viennese musical world, focusing mostly on Viennese classical and modern music. He opens inner doors, provides insight and understanding for his young colleagues who then discover the making, effect, cultural surrounding and historical role of selected music.
Conservatoire Mulhouse: As an important part of his residency as a composer 2011-2012 Ehrenfellner also had many encounters, lectures, talks at the Conservatoire on the subjects Orchestra, Composition and Chamber Music.
Konservatorium Wien: Between 2005-2010 Christoph repeatedly provided Assistance to his teacher Georg Mark in coaching his younger colleagues and the Conservatory Orchestra. He also got invited to do composition-workshops – which all he did with pleasure, holding at this time already degrees in violin and chamber music studies.
Showa University Tokyo and Toho Gakuen Orchestra: Touring regularly Japan as a Soloist and Chamber Musician Christoph accepted invitations from the Showa University to give master-classes and play concerts together with selected students. Also the Toho Gakuen Orchestra he encountered as a coach, namely for the premiere of his violin/viola-concerto op.10 which they did outstandingly successful at Kioi Hall in 2010. In consequence of his musical input Ehrenfellner has been made honorary member of the Japan Austria Cultural Association.
